It’s either an FU to the Browns, or the market was never what he thought it was going to be. On Cleveland sports talk for the past year, all anyone was breathlessly reporting was that it was at least a 1st and a 2nd, and maybe two 1sts that the Pats wanted.

Well, the Browns “Brain Trust*” sure is pissed. I’m sure Belichick is, too, considering he wanted to get at least a #1 out of Jimmy G.

Amen to that! Can I hear fingers on strings or closing the keys of a saxophone or other wind instrument? That’s when you know you’ve got got sound.

+1 Pentateuch

Eh, they’re trying to jell, they have been playing back-to-backs, no one knows their role...

I had to double-check it; there was a lot of outrage from the fans when it was announced, and there was some doubt they were going to keep him, but they did.

Consensus around league seems to be that Hue was handed a pretty talented Oakland team that year, and he was the reason they only went 8-8. People are now saying a) he either wants to go back to Cinci to coach O and be HC if Marvin gets canned because b) that will be his only HC opportunity ever again, based on this

People in town are already talking about flipping it because it’s dropping, so you’re not alone in this line of thought.

Jae Crowder has looked/played like a zombie so far. It is the most inexplicable thing by far. JR looking lost without a define role? No doubt. Dwyane being kinda-sorta washed up? Sure. But Crowder should have snapped in like a missing Lego piece.

Why do you think the Browns were in such a hurry to hire Ryan Grigson? They had to add even more flavor to their ruining secret sauce.

I have a strong suspicion both Chuck Pagano and Hue Jackson are let go sometime before the end of year, and it wouldn’t surprise me in the least to see Pagano’s name come up for the Browns job. It’s so much like when they hired Mangini, it’s almost eerie.

Agreed! I knew he was good, but it wasn’t until after he was let go by the Niners and I saw where he stood on some of the all-time stat charts that made me go, DAMN. Frank Gore was way better, and for way longer, than most people would imagine. Considering some of the guys who get into Canton, he should be first year

This is kind of a corollary to the Shaun Livingston injury in a way. While I know there was no arterial damage, doctors were scared he would lose his leg. Apparently it was twisted so badly and in such a position that it was cutting off blood flow to the healthy tissue below the knee.

You hate that when you’re gobblin’ spotted dick.

I came back to commenting about a month ago. I’m stuck in semi-grey permanence.

The irony is that the Boilermaker mascot is basically a fucking engineer, so the parents had it spot-on.

I thought Miami didn’t really run the Wildcat anymore.
