How could they miss the mark so hard by making all the art opt-in by default? At first glance it seemed like they were at least asking for permission unlike... every other AI out there... so the concept didn’t sound that bad but then they completely ruined everything.

A pet peeve of mine on these games is how many have action that looks cool in a cinematic trailer but then the gameplay is just “press X to awesome” without much depth.

So I think this trailer showcasing more “regular” fights against non-superhuman enemies has hyped me more for the game than the previous ones honestly.

In most recent games that’s certainly an option! If the BP is all cosmetics and you’re burned out of the grind, just skip it.

The way I’d put it, it’s a game with great mechanics on a bleak world. All the running, grinding and going full on anime against bosses is fun despite the world it was put into. It’s a great foundation to improve on a sequel.

To each their own, but gotta understand that in the end, the one standard most people will judged games is on whether they are fun or not. The people may as well be all magenta skinned.

The thing with Odyssey (or most of the 3D mario games really) is that they both include easy to get moons/stars so anyone can reach the final boss and get the basic ending while also having much harder challenges for those that want to 100% the game.
