I don’t really care about the content of these microtransactions but I do think it’s shady that they are revealed now, after all mayor sites and streamers reviewed the game. It’s the same crap Activision does.

This guy earns more sympathy points because he often makes content like “let’s plant some trees!” or “lets raise money to clean the ocean!” instead of just flaunting how many lambos he owns.

It’s easy to see why people gravitate towards him compared to other influencers, of all the millionaries seeking attention on

IMO we should just let them do it and watch as it fails. They’ll stay convinced that it’ll work until they try and fail, like Ubisoft with the Quartz.

I want to believe this dude that he was just set up. Someone else stole the car then sold it to him to pay a debt or whatever. But then... why run from the cops.

“my rights are in jeopardy so I’m authorized to be a dick to other people”

But I feel we need to make this clear, even if she would’ve graduated anyways the harassment was still undeserved and may have pushed her into quitting streaming a few weeks earlier than originally planned. It doesn’t make the situation look any better.

While I agree that we can give them the benefit of the doubt on not talking against Russia because they live there and obviously that’d be dangerous, the rest of the details like that racist caricature or the robots being based on an Ukrainian political figure don’t do the developers any favors... there’s no excuse

The inevitable problem: besides the author being upfront about it, how do you prove something is AI generated or not?

Kudos to Valve for pulling this off but shouldn’t they keep the details more secretly guarded? Like won’t this tip off the cheaters on how to avoid this same tactic in the future?

Saying that they want all their future projects to be riddled with monetization is disappointing but was it really necessary to delist this one game? Seems like an unwarranted dick move. Like they not only wanted to disappoint people but also shit on them for extra points.

Did <whoever decides which licences to buy> just hate the translators? Or is the series too popular in japan they went “gimme” without double-checking it?

I want to believe it’s something slightly less malicious. If they make an AI that can learn a game, they could fire all of their testing/quality assurance departments and just have AIs act as their beta tesers.

Of course it’d be boring if in an RTS you just tell the AI “win the game for me” but I think it can work if you’re more specific like “train 10 archers” “build a castle on the hill north of my base” or “flank the enemy with my cavalry”.

It just depends on how granular your commands are.

Reddit can control what’s posted on it, but they can’t monetize it if they don’t own the trademark.

To make a clear example, there’s an r/Disney sub, someone may post a picture of the t-shirt they bought at disneyland there, but that doesn’t authorize reddit to sell their own Disney T-shirts.

IMO that’s what this is all

So from what I gather, dude came up with the sub’s name but didn’t bother trademark it, reddit saw the chance and submitted their own patent. One side is an idiot, the other is an opportunist but then... how can there be trademark infringement if he doesn’t own the trademark anyways?

Did no one notice when copying the mod files that some of the pngs had vaginas on them? Granted double-checking potentially hundreds of textures is not the most fun job out there but CDPR should be more careful or they may find other surprises besides uncredited vaginas.

The idea sounded good at a meeting but everyone there forgot how awful the internet can be.

They probably had good intentions, like what if a you make an RPG but forget to mention it has vampires, your players can vote together and add the vampire tag for you and help other vampire lovers find your game - Everyone

If you find some 30ton hydraulic operated titanium legs sexy then go for it, don’t let anyone stop you.

If they are going to remove the material anyways (and it’s not like “realistic vaginas” was used as marketing to boost sales of the games) then there’s no harm done. There doesn’t seem to be any malicious intentions, just an awkward mistake.

This is gonna sound super pessimistic but I don’t think we can ever get out of this rabbit hole. Throw all the lawyer and laws you want, we already lost.

Just think about it, if all the software and music and videogame and movie industries with their infinite moneys couldn’t fully get rid of torrent sites.... what hope
