There’s only so much you can do with this premise. The dude needs a van - just get a van. The whole point, as I see it, is really just to get the comments section going.

The Porsche is a performance car. The Tesla is a luxury sedan. One will track all day and tear up the autobahn, they other wont.
Not the first time some has regretted their FUCKS the morning after.
Manual wagon with sexy VR noises........MMmmm. This is an easy NP for me. But I have plenty of VW maintenance experience so I know what I’d be getting into.
Well, it’s not brown, but it checks all the rest of the boxes.
I had an Eclipse back in the day, and if they’re anything like that, god have mercy on their wallet. Repairs ran with the wind!
I worked with a guy who bought a RHD version of this car - it was all riced out with all kinds of add on boost controllers, pillar gauges, etc. It never ran right, so he bought a LHD one, which also never ran right. His plan was to make one reliable LHD car out of the two of them.
Can’t speak for anyone else, but I am torn. I love these cars and thought it was a definite NP. But the complete lack of any description of the mechanical aspects makes me lean CP. I can say that if I was anywhere near Northern Cambria, Pennsylvania, I would already be in my car to go look at this.
What is wrong with you all.
NP was my initial reaction, but that’s a lot of specialized moving parts (in undisclosed condition) on a car with very little in the way of a U.S. support system. IF I can find a good Mitsu mechanic and IF it checks out fully, then OK.
If I read your comment as though the tinkering on the car is fun, I would say you’re mistaken. I had a couple different Stealths back in the day. I am still fond of them, but I am not fond of the work they needed. Getting parts was always incredibly challenging. One of mine sat in a trans shop for 9 months while they…
You’re absolutely entitled to your opinion, but that’s the reason for a more split opinion on this car than you might have been expecting.
This is the correct take.
Too much tech in a 90s car is a bad thing 20 years later. I'm personally not a huge fan of as is stuff either. That's a gigantic "I know something is wrong, but I'm not telling you what it is" to me.
Anyone with experience with these cars knows the financial peril that comes along with them. Something is always breaking/broken, and it’s never a cheap fix. Along with that, the transverse engine layout in the tiny engine compartment make it a nightmare to work on. And honestly, when they are running, they're not all…
Thank you, “5th gear flop” sounds like a serious problem but it turns out that is no big deal at all.
When are we going to stop pretending that shitbox econo cars from the 80's are somehow loved and missed? The reason it only has 17k on it is because they are TERRIBLE FUCKING CARS and the original owner quickly realized it. 7k? There’s no way.
I see them all the time here (current and previous generations), and everytime I go in the garage....so maybe I’m conditioned to look for them.
