I didn’t realize how bad the writing was precisely because I listened to the audiobook, which I enjoyed.

He has not deadlifted 1000 pounds. The deadlifting video w/r/t 1000 lbs is the moment he made it into the “1000 lb club” meaning that his bench, squat and deadlift together exceeded 1000 lbs, which is an impressive feat, for sure, but he actually deadlifted 435lbs, which is not much more than 2x his bodyweight, which…
I have no idea how you managed to write this article with seething with disdain every step of the way.
Perhaps because I’m only a few hours in, or because I didn’t play this back on the PS2, or maybe because EVERYBODY is complaining about Vaan, but I just don’t find him that intolerable.
Never played this. IGN regards the original PS2 version as a classic, so I’m amped to play this new, seemingly much improved version. With that said, every mention of Vagrant Story makes me sad that we’ll likely never get a sequel, or even a remaster/re-release.

This comment deserves more stars.
Is Microsoft going to do anything new or exciting here, or is this just going to be all about graphics? I hope for the former!
I much, much prefer linear to open-world. Open-world games are exhausting.
I could probably play Metroidvanis, and only Metroidvanias, for the rest of my days and be very, very happy. Thanks for the heads up on this. Purchased immediately.
All of Rockstar’s games bore me to tears.
Fun game with one of the worst final boss fights in gaming history.
Panacea. I forget from what game, but almost definitely a Final Fantasy or other Squaresoft game. Final Fantasy Tactics, maybe? Breath of Fire?
ME: Andromeda is a fine game. It deserves its Metacritic score in the 70s. If I had to score it, I would give it somewhere in the range of a 7 - 8.5 (and that’s based on about 30 hours spent in the single player campaign). One of its problems is the fact that it’s non-linear, and four of the core gameplay…
