My issues with this side-quest echo yours but go further. Specifically, there is no acknowledgment of the fact that the superior officer’s death, whether it be at the hands of his friend or the Kett, was probably the only reason his crew ended up surviving. I let him go not because he was “innocent” (he wasn’t, he

Unless the AI fixes to combat are substantial, decreasing the warmonger penalties will only further break the game for us domination victory sorts.

If you don’t pre-order a gaming console, you’re not going to get it for several months. That’s just how these things work, and it’s worked like that for YEARS.

Maternity leave at Biglaw jobs is significant and generous. Also, Gorsuch is correct that a large number of new moms that work in Biglaw take the maternity leave and come back to leave the firm only a few months later.

What T14 did your friend attend? UVA was as collegial as I could have possibly hoped for. My general understanding is that the schools outside (and possibly just outside) of the T14 tend to have the most cutthroat students, because they’re more actively competing with each other for the highest paying jobs, while if

Probably more Zelda: BotW. Though I should start on Nier, or Horizon, or Resident Evil 7, or For Honor, or get back to Dishonored 2, or Doom or Deus Ex.

I am with you 100% on this. Because bows degrade a little bit slower, and because melee combat is so damned dangerous, I just tend to avoid direct confrontations now, and use my bow and arrows, or run away from pretty much every non-mandatory fight. Of course, this means I’m constantly buying arrows, which is annoying.

How did Nioh not make this list?

Nioh is much, much better than Souls in almost every way, except for enemy design and atmosphere, which are obviously very subjective. I’m much better at Nioh than I am at the Dark Souls games, i.e., I find Nioh much easier, and that’s due to: (1) the fact that I replayed the first level in Ninja Gaiden on the Xbox

This is unfortunate. I understand that you’ll be able to place more ads, increasing Kotaku’s revenue, which is good for Kotaku. I just wish that could be accomplished some other way. My experience when I visit Kotaku is pleasant, unlike when I visit IGN, which is extremely unpleasant. Please don’t become like IGN.

Cool Spot was a good game. At least, I don’t remember it being a bad game. Like with every game I played as a child, I wouldn’t have spent more than a long weekend with it, since my parents bought me one or two games a year, and I always used those on “big” games (i.e., JRPGs).

This is beautiful. Brought tears to my eyes. Thanks, Mike.

How much is a positive preview the result of goodwill from the developer/publisher or “favors” or whatever, vs. the fact that people who write about video games love video games, are shown the best parts of unfinished video games, and want all video games to be great?

If all mobile games cost $2.99 - $9.99 mobile games might actually be fun, and, you know, games, instead of completely random bullshit time and money sinks.

This has made me angrier than I thought a random piece of gaming news possibly could. I’m in a full-on nerd-rage.

This is an interesting review and well done. Thank you.

I love my Elite, but too much accidentally pressing under-buttons resulted in my just removing them entirely from the controller, instead of learning how to grip the controller differently (properly?).

“Shoulders back” is a good cue. “Shoulders back and down” is a better cue. You’re looking to maintain scapular retraction while you walk. “Shoulders back” as a cue may result in shrugging the weight while you’re walking, which isn’t what you want. Squeeze those shoulder blades back and down.

This sucks. I’ve such a huge backlog of never-played, or minimally-played, Steam games, that I can wait this out, but it’s still a bummer. Dishonored is one of my favorite games from last gen.

People are still playing this garbage-heap excuse for a “game”? Why!?!
