Whilst I understand what you mean I’ve found that in practice I get best fuel economy gaining speed downhill and using the momentum to go uphill. Within reason of course, if there’s a queue of traffic behind or in front I’ll drive more normally.

I get what you’re saying, I do this technique as much as is reasonable depending on what traffic is around me. If someone is behind me I’ll drive normally so as not to incur road rage.

It’s a pretty awesome life, I have a damn good job which means I can afford the commute. What I do have however is a girlfriend with no drivers licence who couldn’t move work when I got offered my new job. I actually like driving so as long as my expenses continue to add up then it’s fine.
