It's about the same width but it's much lower and shorter.
I tried to get some angles to show just how much negative space there is under the car and just how shrink wrapped all the components are.
Can I be not grey please? I don't really know how it works but I'd like to put an obligatory picture of my MX5 as my avatar 😊
As a British Automotive Engineer who has worked for 2 of the companies mentioned in this article I am extremely annoyed at the ignorant mouth breathers who voted out. So much misinformation and fear mongering was done by the vote leave campaign and unfortunately people bought it because reading facts and doing actual…
Should have got Wanksy on the case.
It was terrible, LeBlanc is passable and I could see him becoming a good presenter with time but Chris Evans is insufferable. The whole show was just cringeworthy and awkward. Like a kid hopped up on sugar trying to get its parents attention or like a kid at school who tries to create his own nickname long after…
My Miata (actually a Eunos Roadster because I are English and it’s a JDM (tyte!) import) has done 130,000 miles. Does this mean I can now turbo it to eleventy four horsepower and crash in a blaze of glory?
Pretty sure anyone buying a Bently doesn't give a flying spur about fuel economy and would be more likely to be suckered in by something with heritage. From a PR point of view I don't see the point in killing this characterful and wilfully obscure engine. I know times move on etc. But across all of the BE group…
You've clearly never driven a sporty Renault then. Peugeot have made some good hot hatches in their time too. Hatchbacks are what the French do well but damn was this one disappointing. All the style, none of the driver engagement.
Citroen DS3: it’s billed as a fun and funky hatchback and it certainly looks the part. It was so disappointing to drive, all the controls were just so vague you were essentially driving by guesswork. No steering feedback, a gearbox that felt like stirring porridge and over assisted brakes that had a lot of slop at the…
Go on lad! Have his bloody pants down! Do it for England! 😊
I’m inclined to agree mainly because LMP1 cars have doors. If they went full cockpit I wouldn’t be against it though. It's this non-committal political fannying around that winds me up more than anything.
I'll take my automotive design degree, and my multiple years working for IEM manufacturers and shove them up my ass then. Good day sir.
Please see my other comments replying to other responses on my original comment. I never said the world was black and white but at the end of the day engineers are problem solvers that’s what we (yes I am an engineer) get paid to do. As mentioned in my other comments I have several ideas which I think should at least…
The reason we have these multiple types being tested on track is because some people are calling for open cockpit whilst others are calling for fully enclosed so you end up with a politcal halfway house/compromise. I’m very sure that with some intelligent design you could make det cord work. If not then I’m still very…
It is complicated but let me throw some ideas at you that they could investigate. FIA mandates air conditioning in prototype cars so why not in F1? Failing that a vent in the front of the nose/canopy and one at the rear to help them stay cool. As for helping them get out, explosive bolts wouldn’t be dangerous at all…
