Struggling to see how a vehicle which is more capable and superior in every measurable way isn’t improving on the old defender... Is it because the panels are straight and there’s no exposed rivets?

I like it... *prepares to be flamed*

Glad you got it fixed, the heartbreak when things go wrong whilst trying to fix a car is all to real. I sheared a bolt for my friends NA Miata timing belt cover whilst changing his belts and water pump for him and boy did I feel awful about it. Sometimes working on a car is so satisfying but sometimes it’s just

Thanks mate, yeah I test drove one and it was hilarious. Fizzy little 3 pot turbo that makes a great noise. Cool interior and tiny dimensions mean you can chuck it around with abandon. 50mpg too so a perfect daily if you don’t need a big car. Very happy with my decision.

This video made me just that little bit more smug about the fact I’ve just put a deposit down on an Up! GTI. :)

For one week of a year they can live with it though? Not a permanent race venue.

Well I know that it wasn’t there previously but I can imagine that most people thought it was cool to have actual fricking race cars nearby. You have to one hell of a cold hearted bastard not to.

Which utter gimps complained about this before? Local councils here in the U.K. are fricking ridiculous the way they entertain killjoys and spoil things for everyone else.

I think it should be carefully restored. The car has earned it!

A careful restoration back to immaculate factory specification. The car earned it.

There’s another reason that I know about which hasn’t been mentioned. Arch gap, remember those? How cars would come out with a gap between the top of the tyre and the bottom of the wheel arch that you could fit your fist in? Well that was to allow for wheel travel, but arch gap doesn’t look nice and stylists want to

As a British person I can happily say that Pimp my ride U.K. was garbage and far worse than Pimp my ride US. The whole ethos of the show sits awkwardly with our typically reserved and mild mannered (in comparison to some) culture. Tim Westwood is a bit of a running joke in the UK. It’s like watching your mates dad

3 tonnes is massive in Europe. 99.99999% of cars won’t be over that.

Yawn, thanks for that long ass patronising explanation of shit I knew already. Do I like F1, touring cars Indycar, Prototypes and GT racing? Yes of course I do because I’m a race fan. For the same reason I also like FE because the racing is good. Faster cars don’t automatically make better racing.

I could dig that.

I never said I didn’t like noise or F1. I just think it’s sad that people discount FE because “muh, no noise!”.

The Packard Bentley and the Napier Railton are as beautiful as they are brutal. I also seem to remember the Darracq being weirdly fast at Goodwood FOS but I suppose 200bhp is plenty for propelling an old step ladder and some tin.

As someone who works as an engineer in the U.K. auto industry and whose fiancé is a citizen of an EU country I can tell you that the U.K. feels like hell on Earth right now. It’s a catastrophe but the Brexit fanatics continue with their nationalistic ignorance. It’s exasperating.

As someone who works as an engineer in the British automotive industry I can tell you it feels like living hell right now. I also have fiancé who is a citizen of an EU country and she’s essentially going to be a second class citizen should Brexit go through. It’s a fucking catastrophe but so much hatred and division

Me when people ignore all the awesome close racing and focus solely on the noise:
