Performance cars never work well in terms of leasing. They have normal depreciation and on top of that, the stigma the last person drove the piss out of it because A) it is a sports car and B) it is a lease and they don’t give a crap because they are turning it in a couple years down the line.

If it is registered to the parents it is even worse because the parents should know better. Kids are kids and don’t care about this kind of stuff(or anything really except their cell phone), but more than likely the car is in the parents name so THEY should have taken care of it.

Exactly, this should have never happened in the first place. Chances are, since the kid was in high school, the car was in the parents name and the parents are the ones getting the notices. Notice 1 should have been enough to get the car fixed, let alone several! You don’t have to be into cars to take a safety recall…

I had felt sad for a second, but then I read they had MANY notices and didn’t fix the problem, that is Darwin’s theory at work. You can’t fix stupid.

No kidding! I tow a small 4x8 Harbor Freight trailer with my Focus ST and I can feel my neighbors eyes staring at me through the window as I back up my tiny trailer into the drive and correct a million times to keep from jackknifing. I would rather backup a 16 foot trailer than my 8 footer.

A better analogy would be baking a cake, but not knowing all the ingredients and requiring a trip to the store and back for each item in you need.
