I started this around New Year's (have an Xbox 360 streaming wirelessly from a PC in the basement, which is loud but is in the basement so it doesn't matter); however, for some reason it's recently started not being able to communicate through Windows Media Center with the basement computer. It has worked, but doesn't

What's the easiest way to backup apps on my iPod ahead of the jailbreak? I'm jailbroken currently on 4.3.3; have Cydia and Installous stuff on there, and wondering how to preserve that before I jailbreak.

If a $250 netbook will do everything you want a $600 tablet to do, is there a real reason - outside of the coolness factor - to spend the extra $350? Don't get me wrong, an iPad would be a sweet thing to have...but the reality is, I use my netbook for tons of stuff, and I haven't really had a moment where I've said "I

Alpert?

I have a Touch, it's on the top right there as well (unless we're talking about an older touch).

"For the best in Apple-based operating systems, try Lion: It's this thing where you autohide scrollbars, screw up the mouse wheel, and add a Launchpad, all while taking out Rosetta and letting you auto save your applications!"

Since Wolfram-Alpha is incorporated, and W-A does math, I'd think it probably could...

That's a handy spreadsheet, I'll have to peruse it and think about it. The thing is, ease of use is key (any TV solution that my wife and kids can't easily figure out isn't really a solution), so while this makes sense to me, I'm not sure it will make sense to them, which puts me back to the drawing board. That sheet

Can someone talk to me about AppleTV and what the benefits/drawbacks are to using that, Netflix, and certain content streaming apps in place of cable? I specifically need soccer games (which, for a fee, I can get sent to my iPod touch via a subscription, which I could then Airplay on my TV) and stuff like the Disney

@Ignerd: Didn't the machine get trashed in the process? I vaguely remember the spinny things getting all messed up and flying at the command center or something.

@Ignerd: That's true; I suppose it all does depend on your perception of what happened. Still, the CHARACTER believed that there was faster than light/wormhole travel, for whatever that's worth.

@Ignerd: Didn't the spinny-thing send her to Vega at the speed of light? Or did that open a wormhole?

@Ignerd: There IS, however, faster than light travel.

Um...break a leg?

I'm amazed that 4815162342 wasn't featured more prominently.

I'm a father of two girls, and I can honestly say that my own father never taught me any of these things. In retrospect, outside of baking and doing dishes my parents left me woefully unprepared for life as a competent adult.

If Cleveland's NASA Glenn Research Center hadn't redesigned the seals on the booster tanks after the Challenger, there wouldn't have been any space shuttles after 1986.

"Lost" numbers FTW.
