Yeah but that's a design for a large hybrid system in like a diesel electric locomotive when the engine doesn't drive the train but drives some kind of stator assembly to generate electricity to drive electric motors that drive the train. Atkinson cycle engines are similar to Miller cycle engines but they don't use a supercharger. They use a delayed valve closing to increase the compression by utilizing the inertia of the air charge in the intake to get a sort of "ram air" effect to bump compression and gain power. Read more
