Small correction (I think): Richard's wife is also an experiencer, right? So she believes him about his experience, but thinks it has taken over his life. Plus, they were on the rocks already before they were abducted.

is this the first episode with actual proof that aliens are real and not hallucinations? i don't recall any instances before where multiple people from the group "experience" something together until this episode with the piece of metal in Ozzie's head.

It's obvious to us, the viewers, that he was going to show up. Not so obvious to Sansa and Jon.
