The thing is that there is already a psychopomp pokemon in the form of Dusknoir, a ghost pokemon who has a radio antenna that lets it receive orders from the world of ghosts on whose time has come. Dusknoir is also described explicitly as taking lost spirits to the great beyond like a proper psychopomp.
