I don’t understand how so many people own new/expensive cars. I’m a single guy, making a decent amount (100k), and I just paid off my $17k car. I don’t live beyond my means, but how are all these people buying 40k+ cars? I feel like that’s not sustainable if I want to save any money. I’d love a new car, but $700+

I’ve had the door completely close and lock on a thumb before. The nail eventually came off, but that was the extent of injuries other than it hurt like a bitch

Here come the “except me” teenagers

Full coverage for my ‘09 370Z in Texas is $2000 a year. I’m almost 30, no speeding tickets, and 1 accident. I feel like I’m getting screwed, but this was the cheapest I could find.

I went car shopping for my sister, who wanted a new entry luxury car. We test drove the TLX, and I literally could not believe how bad it was. Both just as a passenger, interior feel, options, driving feel, etc. I felt like I was in a Civic. I don’t understand how they’re trying to sell them for that much.

I went car shopping for my sister last almost a year ago, and she was interested in entry model luxury cars. We test drove the IS F-sport and both liked it. And then we went to look at a TLX, just in case. When I got in, I was like....am I in an Accord? Everything felt and looked so cheap. Drove like shit too. Noped

TIL Hawaii is an Asian country

From what I’ve heard, they pretty much come on every car that you buy in Korea. Probably installed by the dealer after delivery.

Nasa engineer here. We also call it Chinesium.

I carry a pocket knife daily. While not nearly as bad as a loaded gun, there has been a time when I was going through airport security with it in my pocket because it’s so natural to me. I actually almost got through, but then the TSA guy stopped me after going through the xray machine. He was not happy. Had to throw

In Houston, some parts of Beltway 8 are only EZ Pass w/o cash tolls. I understand the time savings that these passes provide in general, however, to be the devil’s advocate, it can be annoying to people that only use the tollway few select times.

I’m also an engineer and actually interviewed with Tesla and SpaceX. I also have many friends that are engineers in the industry, and it is well known that Tesla and SpaceX pay well below the avg ‘tech’ company in the area. They also hire young engineers out of college, because it’s the cool place to work at, and burn

Yeah, why is it that any time it’s a Tesla, the title has to be someone in a Tesla (aka God) did this? It’s like when bloggers mention 3D printing for no reason.

Damn. Gmail building cars now? That’s pretty cool

No, on Fridays everyone wants to GTFO and rushes or doesn’t care. I think Tuesday or Wednesday is the sweet spot.

I interviewed with Apple for a job. Most arrogant and condescending people I’ve met (next down is Tesla). I got a random call from them one day while at work, and it’s two managers in their R&D/product dev department. I asked who’s calling because I wasn’t expecting the call. They go, “you don’t know who this is? It’s

Meh. Also interviewed with them and SpaceX. The guys I talked to from those companies sounded like assholes who thought they were better than everyone else. I’ve got friends working for these companies too. They don’t get paid enough for the amount of work they do/area they live in. Elon’s method is basically to hire

This is like saying alcohol or drugs or texting makes driving a lot more dangerous. Get this sensationalist/click bait shit out of here.

Many things will will make driving more dangerous. Are you gonna speak out about McDonald’s now because driving while eating is dangerous?

There are people that will be distracted

You asked for one with less quality issues with Tesla. He named one. Now your rebuttal is that they have recalls? Wat

You can’t deduct this sales tax if you’re using standard deduction thought, right? Single, no house, bought a car last year. According to TurboTax, a standard deduction is better, unless I did something wrong....
