Just be sure to brush LOTS of butter on the bread... ;-)
Please get MozBackup folks... It's the right way to save your entire setup in a few clicks and is foolproof.
I think as long as it is clear (and I don't mean in fine print) how a particular site or service is handling your privacy so you can make an informed decision, both very public and very private activities can cooexist.
I do a full image backup with Acronis at 3am to a second physical hard drive.
@PacJack360: True dat...
Wave has a long way to go. Pretty much useless right now.
@PacJack360: That is one approach, and for many the right one, but I hardly think it is what you are "supposed" to do. I am in my browser or Photoshop a majority of the time, and prefer a couple of clicks to taking my hand off the mouse to navigate or launch apps.
@diamonddnice: I find that if you categorize the Start Menu into folders by function (Games, Graphics, Media, Internet, Office, System) it makes finding apps a lot more intuitive with a lot less scrolling, and those folders make nice shortcuts for a dock like RocketDock or ObjectDock if you decide to go that way.
@tgrantt: To be honest I find the "up" button to be a bit of a "prehensile tail" cluttering things up and don't miss it. Just like it took a while to get over looking for ".." to click on to move "up" in a file manager, I too sort of went "harrumph" when the "up" button went away. However, breadcrumb navigation is…
Still 32. I have only 2gig of RAM at this time, and am waiting for a "tipping point" when 1) I feel the need to upgrade my RAM and 2) There is more certainty that everything I like to use will work ok in a 64bit environment. It's pretty close now, but still a few things (mostly some older utilities) that are a bit…

As long as the Home button can be set to anything I want I'm fine with whatever default functionality they want to put for it. I use it as a call to FastDial and if they force it to have some other purpose I would be forced to just remove it and put the button for FastDial in its place.
@Zinger314: I just installed Strata40 and some of the recommended addons to go with it. Very nice indeed. I also can recommend it.
@deanbmmv: Rainmeter works fine with Win7, is as easy to "remove" as "exit" and as easy to uninstall as a double click on the uninstaller in the start menu. Works great with dual monitors. (you can put skins on either monitor by just dragging them where you want them, Rainmeter will remember)
It's a great start, but also FAR less customizable than its Firefox namesake / sibling. Not there yet by a long shot.
@njdevil: Sure. Rainmeter is pretty light on resources overall. You CAN load up enough skins in Rainmeter to impact things, but that is something you can control.
I agree that it isn't a zero sum question. A decent sized primary monitor is a must, but having a secondary monitor to keep an eye on chats, desktop widgets and such while you work on the main screen is very nice indeed.
