uBlock Origin allows you to use the “picker” tool to block the entire video element. Problem solved.

This is why I leave my adblock on for Gawker sites. The ads are far too disruptive.

Nice. This works well, I also like that because it’s an extension on Chrome I can toggle it on/off right by Adblock’s widget.

Lets not forget the constant looping gifs they seem to love here. Having to right click and uncheck looping all the time is a pain in the arse

Try “Disable HTML5 Autoplay” extension.

I use AdBlock, and it stops the banner ads on these “Gawker” sites, but these videos have just started appearing recently.

I adblock everything. It became way the F too invasive.

Perhaps a one day embargo on all the Kinja/Gawker/Univision sites by all users might wake them up?  It’s bad enough that we have to endure the constant glitchiness of the commenting system. 

Get rid of these damned autoplay videos with sound!

Print your comment out, frame it and put it on your wall. This way you can reflect back on how wrong you were in 10 years. No I’m not going to argue about it.
