I think the story was one or more of the writer’s/showrunners not liking the actress getting pregnant (and not revealing it for a while, though I understand her unease in disclosing it given hollywood culture - which still needs work in treatment of pregnant actors), not disliking Cordelia's character in particular.

The funniest part to me was D*ck’s text for Logan to bring him pants “who else does he think texts me to bring them pants?"
