I’m struggling to figure out what their purpose was. Were they supposed to be comic relief? They certainly didn’t advance the story in any meaningful way. I thought they were building up to something with that sniper, maybe some sort of redemption arc, but that didn’t really pan out.

They worked well together, just not as romantic partners.

Had it been more of a fling, I would have bought it. Of course two attractive young people isolated from others would want to have a little fun. Love at first sight? Nah.
