If you see nothing of concern with the promo material presented thus far, I don't want to convince you otherwise. Enjoy the new show. To me, things seem off.

Curb Your Enthusiasm is coming back, right? Maybe Larry David can do that thing where he starts an applause while awkwardly trying to escort Bill Maher out of, oh I don't know, existence.

As the memebot who poses as George Takei on social media would say, "Oh my!"

Oops, my bad. I thought I was on a discussion thread about MST3K. I didn't realize I entered a circle jerk.

I didn't say it was remaking the original. I was accused of wanting a remake of the original. What I want is a reboot that keeps up with modern sensibilities, yet maintains the heart of the original. What I fear is that this will be more of a Jurassic World and less of a Fury Road.

It's 20 years later, therefore it must be good? That didn't work so well with Jurassic World or the Phantom Menace.

Fair enough

I have every intention of giving it a chance, I'm merely expressing my concern based on this photo, the various promos, and the announced cast/writing staff. Different is fine, I just fear that the heart of the show will get lost in the shuffle.

Shout Factory has a sampling of every numbered season on Hulu. Of course, you have to go to Hulu to watch 'em.

That isn't at all what I said, though perhaps you meant to reply to the Straw Man.

Thanks for the support. I seem to have touched a nerve with some of these people. This is still MST3K and I'm still going to give it a chance. I'm merely expressing my concerns on a comedy pop culture website where most everything is looked at with a critical eye.

Uh oh. Hopefully their delivery is different enough to discern without staring at the silhouettes.

The fundamental concept was a new generation of MST3K. What I'm afraid we're getting is a Jurassic World-style nostalgia fest.

I was excited for Jonah after reading his teardown of Sublime in the "Hatesong" feature, but then I saw him on @Midnight and grew concerned. Then I saw him do Rifftrax with Joel and grew more concerned. If the army of writers can peg his voice (and not try to replicate Joel's, Mike's, or some combination of the two),

The Fast and the Furious had a director?

What a bizarre comment. Do you post something similar on every less-than-glowing movie review as well, or are there nuances to your "no criticisms" policy?

I hadn't head about that. I wonder if that's why Rifftrax is allowed to sell old MST3K episodes now (and actually share the profits with everyone).

I am by no means angry or anything. Merely concerned that something I was excited for won't be what I was hoping it would be.

Did I insult your mother or something? I simply expressed my concern with the new show based on what they have presented so far. It could end up being great. I hope it does. But from what I've seen so far, it looks like Joel is looking to cash in on '90s nostalgia.

Doesn't mealy-mouthed Jim Mallon still own 40% of this thing?
