IMO, biggest proponent of alternative fuels would be the airline industry.

The crowds are going to be disappointed if it’s the same engine as the ATS-V. What’s so difficult/expensive about putting an LT2 in there? If I wanted a turbo 6 luxury car, I’d get a BMW/Audi. Caddy’s are supposed to be synonymous with V8's. I want a V8.

3rd: No. Don’t. This is a noble cause, but it’s not feasible and will not be taken lightly by people in rural areas with no real infrastructure for charging. Unless the infrastructure is invested (most likely at a loss), nobody will buy pure EV’s in rural areas.

Plug in hybrids might be an exception though.

I wouldn’t be too worried about the i3's battery. I’d be more concerned with other vehicles with air cooled batts like the Leaf.

Current:

IMO, i’d consider a nice, reliable, super fuel efficient and very comfortable Chevy Volt Premier. Very good fuel economy, battery lasts for 300k+ miles. Minimal maintenance when operated with electric only.
