I first heard the term “Time is a flat circle” in an astrophysics lecture in the 70s.

    Annnd .... that’s the problem.

    Lancaster, 1861-Chait?

    But the wild pigs!

WTF are you talking about 1861-Chait? Along with Massachusetts, Pennsylvania is one of the two pillars of the anti-slavery movement. Philly is more abolitionist than freakin’ Boston!

Ok, let’s talk about swing voters. It’s been a while since I read any current research, in in 2004 it was an article of faith among many political scientists that swing voters are not motivated by detailed analysis of the issues. There were thought to b the equally important factors: the vote as a marker of class and

What evidence did anyone produce that he was a professor, a faculty member, some kind of director to “trustee” or postdoc/grad student? He’s been called all of those things in this discussion, and none of them were true. He’s led a very well-documented life, and if you want to (rightly) criticize something stupid that

He was a public scientist contributing a staggering amount to the world. As a visiting scientist, he wasn’t expected to teach. He was expected to PRODUCE.

I’ve been reading his blog for ten years. Never posted about men’s rights. Yes, he frequently does have his head up his ass — but facts matter.

Unfortunately he is also the worst kind of Libertarian (are there any “good” Libertarians?) which leads to assholery like this.”

Stallman was a visiting scientist, not a professor. Professors have power over others. He did not.

It is highly unlikely that RMS has ever been on reddit. He despises it. (It’s also a camp of his ideological enemies, Linux vi users. I’m not saying ther are NO GNU/EMACS users on reddit, but the ones you find there aren’t the folks with the loudest voices.

He actually explicitly objects to the very open source itself.”

Not Stallman! You are obviously unaware of the RMS/ESR conflict.

Ben Carson’s a social climber. Counts for nothing.

Stallman was never a “professor” at MIT. A professor is a teacher on the tenure track. Stallman was originally a graduate student and then a researcher at the Artificial Intelligence Lab and later a visiting scientist at the Media Lab.

I realize that you just misspelled “these.” But the idea that Lyft  is run by tetse flies is excellent.

It Is A True Fact that Lindy Boggs lived on Bourbon Street in her retirement. The raucous bacchanalia that most people know is only the upriver half adjoining Canal Street. Once you pass the Golden Lantern walking downriver, Bourbon Street is a quiet residential neighborhood. Hale Boggs owned a house there that he

    FAR BETTER than “filet.”

Keith gave Time its first tab of acid.
