The start screen is the home so you just start typing, you couldn't do what with windows 7 by just typing from the desktop. .. .. and you don't have to click through anything as you are saying, it shows everything with the name you are looking for.. you only click if you want to do contextual search .. something win7…

you dont have to press ctr+alt+delete to shut down/hibernate/restart.. just click the charms bar on the right and shut down .. or clicking on your user name also bring it up.. no need to press ctr+alt+ delte as you are saying ( windows+i ) also brings the charms bar .. ..
