For the longest time, Democrats thought that merely being demonstrably correct on an issue would be enough to convince people.
I think the "Who would you rather have a beer with?" question isn't really aimed at people like me because I would definitely rather have a beer and talk with someone about the drivers of the global future or whatever.
This is one of the main reasons I want Keith Ellison to win DNC chair. I think he'd be good for the job, but possibly moreso, I think that if he loses, the Bernie people are going to take their ball and go home.
