Kind of a cool truck, but with the work needed (if the AC just needed to be recharged, the seller would’ve done it himself!), a more realistic price would be somewhere in the $3-5k range. Regarding it being 2wd- not sure it matters on the west coast. Here in New England anything without 4x4 is a hard no, though.

I live in Florida. Gas is non-existent days before landfall of a hurricane. Evacuation is futile, which is why we chose a do not evacuate zone to live in.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, Florida needs a TON of chargers.

They should be GLAD he’s splitting his time between other companies. Imagine what a shitshow Tesla would be if he focused 100% of his ineptitude there; they’d be selling 2-dimensional, 3 wheeled utes with no manual controls and made from transparent aluminum.

The face of a woman who still thinks it’s witchcraft.

Watch Maverick slow down production even more now. Can not risk the mighty F150s crown.

The prices for some of these trucks are obscene. Last year I briefly considered replacing my 25-year-old truck and keeping my 10-year-old sedan. To get an F150 or F250 fairly well equipped, but not even fully optioned, was well into the $70k territory.  I kept my old truck and bought a new car instead.  The old

Why is this blog post here?

Same. I remember when the attendants would store your suit bag up front in the “coat rack” closet. Those days are long gone :(

If he’s willing to scrap it what makes him think it’s worth 5x scrap value?

ND. There are a lot of far easier ways to get 40mpg these days, and all of them will be less heartbreaking and less expensive than keeping the Grim VW Reaper at bay on a daily basis.

I can forgive cosmetic damage. I can even non-working things you don’t use much (sunroof, potentially power mirrors). But leaking coolant and oil is a car that somebody didn’t want to spend the money properly maintaing, so that makes this a ND. Signed, guy who just spent $4,200 on comprehensive maintenance and repair

Run away. If you can’t wrench it yourself, you’ll be calculating how many times that 25 gallons will you to your local garage and back. And even if you can, it will just end up on blocks in your yard!!

Unless you have some kind of weird fetish for 30yo unremarkable VWs, it’s a solid No. It’s a $500 junker. The guy is probably high on all those diesel fumes.

4500?, really?  I think the guy added an extra zero

$1000.00 to get it out of your driveway.  Max.

Nice $1500 car.  None of the issues scare, me but at $4500 it doesn’t interest me.

It’s a soot-spewing diesel. (And a Dieselgate culprit?)

N effing D

Except that all those American car and battery factories are now being built.  So long term win.
