“Heat Check” and “Fam”? Fuck, I’m getting old. This doesn’t even seem like English anymore. Just put me out to pasture, already.

As a Leafs fan...
As a Caps fan, I wasn’t even driven to drink last night. The whiskey was there. I just took my dog for a walk instead.
Someone in one of my Caps-related FB groups asked if it would be worse to lose to the Leafs in the first round or to get past them only to lose to the Penguins (because those fuckers are rolling through Columbus like Sherman through Georgia). I asked whether it would be worse to be shot or to be stabbed.
I love when everyone talks themselves into how THIS is the year that the Capitals don’t choke in the playoffs.
Don’t retaliate. He threw a punch. Even in the playoffs, you are asking for a call. A hit in the course of the action may, or may not, get called. A retaliation punch will always get called.
The Penguins were already in possession of the puck which is why play stopped when Crosby was hit in the instances you show above.
“(see earlier Dubinsky penalty)“
Salty tears right there, my friend. The penguins have definitely had some puck luck for the series but no such luck on this particular play. Crosby wore down Columbus’ D on this shift. See Savard standing around straight legged as Crosby weaves back and forth for the third time. If Columbus thinks they are down 3-0…
Bonino took one to the face, no whistle... I don’t see where the problem is. The rule states that whistle can’t be blown until the injured player’s team has control of the puck. Which in this case they didn’t, it was a good goal.
Let me drink your tears of disappointment!
I’d pin that one, and most of the goals in this series on Bobrovsky. He’s been sloppy the entire series.
Yes, but the thing with these guys: Rust, Kuhnhackl, Sheary, Guentzel, is that they’re doing things all over the ice. They’re not just potting back door tap-ins like Kunitz and Armstrong used to do. They’re the real deal.
Doesn’t Crosby more or less make one of these guys every year? Colby Armstrong, Chris Kunitz, Pascal Dupuis...they all get super productive for a year or so on his wing and Pittsburgh just rotates them out.
So serious that he missed approximately one shift.
Blood doesn’t equal serious. Not being able to skate off equals serious. Basically, if the guy is in the process of skating off under his own power, they aren’t going to stop it till the injured player’s team gets possession.
Hate to say it, but Werenski needs to stay down right there.
