Agreed. The quality actually stayed fairly consistent though the first six seasons, including in many storylines that had long outpaced the source material.

The correct phrasing is “I’ll be in my bunk.”

i think doing a ‘serious’ take on ‘silly’ material is an interesting track, but yeah this just reeks of ‘here’s a list of IP, pick one.’ and gyllenhaal being happy someone can pay for his ab workouts.

Yup.

It’s one of the favourite position of the intellectually unserious: “Yes, but this isn’t the shittiest thing. So shut up.”

Is it possible to learn this power?

They charge people for multiple silmultaneous uses. Maybe this is semantic, but yeah, that is a way to stop sharing passwords.

Remember Max: on the internet, there are no insufferable dweebs, only temporarily-embarrassed techbros...

Absolutely true. Everyone can use some comfort sometimes. But it’s a bad idea to eat it every day.

Honestly? Yes. Harry Potter, Star Wars, Marvel, etc. tell simplistic stories with simple themes. They don’t challenge you, they’re comfort food. If you keep eating Kraft Dinner as your staple meal into your 30's and 40's you have an immature palate. If you are still super excited about Harry Potter into your 30's and

*Facepalm* You’re correct. Brain fade on my part :|

It demanded an SNL parody “What if Martin Scorsese made a superhero movie?” and I view it on those terms. Would I enjoy it if it were a short sketch? Does it need to be a whole movie? No, but I always enjoy when someone gets to make a silly movie, like Gus Van Sant’s Psycho. Just a bizarre stunt that shouldn’t be more

Can’t argue with that logic.

The thing is, that when crunch-time came, it wasn’t the artists who stayed late. It was Yamazaki doing the work himself. He took ownership of the challenge as both director and VFX supervisor, so when work was required to meet deadlines, he didn’t put that on his team. I’m also going to say this: as good as Godzilla

It IS low budget, especially for a period piece. Typically anything below 10-12 million is “low” budget.

This thread is worth a read on the subject.

Sadly, I know exactly what you mean, and I’m sensing that, too. I really would have scaled this down, and been more practical with effects and sets as much as possible. Not only in keeping with the play, but in the spirit of the original movie. This is a CGI fest.

Metallica for Super Bowl 2025.

TBF the Roadrunner can still be forgiven for not wanting to be eaten, though. Like, I’m not going to throw myself into the jaws of a tiger just because he looks like he hasn’t eaten in weeks.

This is, in all sincerity, one of the absolute dumbest f**king articles that I have ever read. It’s either amazingly disingenuous, or you are alarmingly dense.
