EDIT, because Kinja’s edit button doesn’t fucking work:

Not including anyone from O Brother, is absolutely criminal.

Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha

How in the holy fuck they took battleship and stuffed it full of aliens instead of making it a tense naval battle movie (think an updated Hunt for Red October), I never will understand.

I’ll give you the benefit of the doubt and assume you’re not American or never took a civics class or something.

All cases, even state law cases, can be appealed to the Supreme Court, on grounds that the state law violates the U.S. Constitution, which states must follow.

Your optimism that this Supreme Court can’t split that hair is touching.

He’s pretty good in Infinity Pool too.

When one party makes sexual purity and morality a fundamental part of their platform, its worth highlighting it when one of them gets hauled away for stuff like this.

In the meantime, maybe this will tide you over, if you haven’t seen it yet: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCTmLAievhkUQjYsWO_0dBog

I thought it was supposed to get a good release soon.  https://ihorror.com/peter-jacksons-early-films-dead-alive-meet-the-feebles-coming-to-4k-releases/

Sure. 20 years from now I could see superhero movies being the equivalent of what the western or musical is for us today: a genre with a bunch of classics that made a shitton of money at its height, but which has become relegated to the occasional throwback movie.

Blind squirrel, nut, etc.

there’s much more focus on the artistic aspects of Barbie popping up then there has been for Oppenheimer.

Of course there are. But Frankel is spearheading this, so RH is naturally going to be the point of reference.

More like the late nineties, early 2000s:

Up until then, CEO pay was about 40-60 times a normal workers. Still egregious, but it’s far from the obscenity of Bob Iger making as much every day ($78K) as most of his workers make in a year (or two, in the case of park Cast

That was back when even schmuck CEOs weren’t making 200x the salary of the average employee of their company.

I think you’re also going to have a tough time getting a lot of support for people like Frankel. You can make a legitimate case that most writers and actors are not millionaires, because that’s really only the top echelon- and even so, it’s a tough PR hill to climb.

When it comes to people like the Real Housewives,

To be fair, that’s exactly what Rogan himself says he is. I haven’t listened to any of it since he went spotify exclusive, and not really that much before, but Rogan did frequently say that he’s just a dumb UFC commentator. But he’s willing to have long form conversations that get past soundbites. I think that’s the

I think you’re 100% correct there. Even most of the classic comedy movies were built around brands or stars that started with shorter form work; National Lampoon, all the SNL/SCTV/Living Color alumni movies, Monty Python, even the Judd Apatow stuff to a degree (since he moved from TV shows to features).

Man that Soderbergh quote is depressing.
