Fair.

Having that discussion within the company is one thing.  Having a Twitter feud between what is essentially departments of the same company is... odd.  To me, anyway.

The fact that one arm of the company is publicly criticizing the other seemed a little strange, that’s all.

I’m sure its all those Farrah Fawcett posters that girls had hanging in their rooms during the 70s...

This entire article has it’s sense of irony deeply out of whack.

So... no one is going to comment on the irony of a company effectively scolding itself? Have we really gone so far deep into call-out culture that this situation doesn’t strike anyone as even slightly strange?

To say nothing of the idea that it’s a little ridiculous to expect the PR wing of a company to refrain from

Who?

As I keep saying, I hope I’m wrong.

Maybe, but it certainly didn’t feel like it (probably because everything was shut down). Maybe it should have been 3-5.

There’s more nuance to it than this, but it essentially comes down to: they blew their wad with Infinity War/Endgame. How do you top those two movies now?

It’s not that I think the PR doesn’t matter at all, it’s that I think it won’t matter enough.

I know I pack a little heavier than most (especially for a guy), but I don’t know that I could even get away for a weekend without a carry-on.  I’ve got a trip right now that I could fly United or Southwest for about the same price, and the difference might honestly just be how much I don’t want to give United

Not really. They might discover that sometime next year, but not right now. Waivers are going to productions that haven’t started filming yet. Meaning they have to shoot, go through post, and probably have a festival run of some kind. That’s a year if you’re being extremely generous.

Waivers aren’t going to

I’m not in these guilds, but I am in IATSE, so there’s some skin in the game. I seriously hope you’re right, but I tend to think Nitpicker has it right here.

The last strike was 15 years ago, and the way things have changed since, it might has well have been 100 years.

Because every time you cast a vote, you agree with 100% of it?

That’s what SAG says they do, sure.

In effect, they put product right back into the pipeline that the strikes are supposed to choke off.

United is just Spirit Airlines in legacy carrier clothes.  I’m surprised they don’t charge a fee for a seat cushion at this point.

Doesn’t Southwest make some accommodations for families with small children though?  Either way, they’re probably not the best choice for a group, but they are great when you’re traveling alone or with just one other person.

There’s differences in the margins between the non-Southwest big carriers. United seems to have the biggest issues with basic services (if there’s a story about a pet being killed or a fight breaking out because of an overbooking fiasco, I feel like 2 out of 3 times it’s on United). They also have really leaned into
