You’re talking about a series that’s already had three people playing Bruce Banner, two playing Rhodie, and features a goddamn talking raccoon.

Audiences will deal if they recast him.

You’re right about the value of a PI, but I think you’re being unrealistic about how agencies actually work. At what point would they hire this PI, and why?

They’re certainly not going to spend thousands of dollars on a PI for each one of their dozens (hundreds, if you’re talking William Morris, CAA, UTA or the like)

That assumes Majors or other clients would offer that information. Agents aren’t lawyers, you don’t get attorney-client privilege, so the client doesn’t really have any protection for disclosing info ahead of time.

True.

I see what you did there.

Edited here, because Kinja sucks:

Well, apparently he was warned, as it says in the article (dummy that I am, didn’t go back to check). I’ll stand by the general idea that people sometimes do go to HR before anything else (which also may be the correct course of action when the person you’re dealing with is your boss),

That’s not a good assumption to make. People tend to avoid confrontation of all kinds (and maybe it’s unfair for this 40 year old to say it, but I think that’s more common among younger folks), so it’s possible they didn’t say anything to anyone other than HR.

Now, that’s not to say you’re wrong, because it’s entirely

There is a line of thought that says that’s exactly why stunts should NOT be in the Academy Awards. Just look at the insane lengths actors already go for Best Acting awards.  You don’t want to encourage people to take risks with their lives to get awards.

It’s pretty hard to say that he didn’t at the very least have... let’s say “help”... (wanted or not), when Spielberg wrote an open letter apology to the guy.

You are far from the only person that likes Hellraiser II.  On some days, I’d put it above the original.

Because the current AVClub staff wants you to hate yourself for watching it and pine for the days they used to be a website and not just a bunch of bloggers scraping the web for entertainment related stories.

That is... something.  Yes.  It’s certainly... something.

I had to go to Amazon to see that for myself.

I haven’t heard this idea that the streamers have content banked, but it keeps coming up in the comments. The COVID shutdown wasn’t that long ago, on a production time-scale, and production has been anemic across the country because no one wanted to start anything that might get interrupted by the strike. I really

They really don’t. Streamers are still catching up from COVID, and production has been down across the country for the last few months, with no one willing to greenlight anything that wouldn’t finish before May 1.

Langella got fired from the House of Usher show Mike Flanagan is doing, so I think he’s covered.

I don’t think anyone ever has.  It’s... fine, but there’s multiple better songs on that album alone, to say nothing of any number of songs on RtL, MoP, AJFA, and more on the Black Album.

Thirding, though I’d opt for the S&M version.

Those are people that have never listened to The Wicker Man.  That song could have come straight off any of the 80s Maiden albums.

Are you honestly going to tell me that Fixxer, Frantic, or Junior fucking Dad belong on this list more than Enter Sandman?
