Lots of those people have been training for months or even years for this, and that’s a bummer for them, but this train has been training its entire life.

Keith is smart. Listen to Keith. Properly installed spacers (stress PROPERLY INSTALLED) should put no additional strain in the lug nuts. The lug nuts are simply there to provide a clamping force whether they are 1" long or 30" long. When using spacers it’s always a good idea to use quality studs and nuts, of course.

True story: I was once at a media event where one of the attendees got busted eBaying the media kit/logo emblazoned bauble/misc swag WHILE WE WERE STILL AT THE EVENT.
