Compared to most people I know, my knowledge is super cursory. My wife and I spend like 2-3 nights a week fencing, so I’m surrounded by it, and it’s an easy sport to follow results. The FIE updates their rankings like clockwork. Wish they were as devoted to uploading stuff, or making it easy to find a goddamn stream.
Thanks and your welcome. I can guarantee the fencing at the Olympics next year is going to be intense and worth the time to watch. Last month’s World Championships had several wild results; the #1 in men’s foil lost in the first round to the 64 seed, for instance. I expect a lot of fierce battles (the Olympics serves…
For sure. I know Race is a model and all, but yeah. Thibus is a really great fencer, and a lot of fun to watch. She’s been on the cusp of a World Championship for a while: 5th in 2016, 3rd in 2017, 2nd in 2018; she’s someone to root for in 2020 as well.
This is my chance to be the person that knows the niche sport and throws stuff out there no one gives a fuck about.
The 8th place finish... a concrete spaceship stadium... a first round exit in the Europa playoff... the star player the scouts found in Nowhere, Scandanavia/South America wearing red w/in 3 years... these are the warmest of blankets. ^_^
I dunno man, my wife is from Groningen, and it is sublimely fascinating watching the green, no matter how putridly they start or end the season, somehow finish 8th every fucking time.
Probably because they know that once they finish reciting the menu, you will never see them again.
Yes, very much so. Here’s my outsider’s perspective:
I’m coming in here late, but I’m telling you that you’re 100% correct in not wasting your time, and flat out ignoring Korra altogether is probably the best option due to the atrocious narrative choices in S2 of Korra that unfortunately mess with ATLA’s mythology.
