My thoughts exactly!

Wow, I guess so. If that's heated, that would make family discussions over the holidays downright warfare.

Seconded!

any future offspring may well get my last name to prove I can.

I remember reading a book set in a matriarchal society where one character commented to a foreigner, "We trace lineage through the mother's side. One can never be certain who the father is." It was a throw-away line, but it's stuck with me for decades.

That being said, I kept my name when I got married because I'm

Reminds me of this picture that I've seen on FB a lot, as well as similar images:

The is a lovely story and all, but where is the gay food promised in the title? Gay food is underrepresented in mainstream media as it is, and frankly I expected better from Jezebel.

The video appears to be from Uganda, where "ghetto" may be a less loaded term. I definitely don't know enough about Ugandan culture to say one way or the other, but some things that are loaded here don't translate the same in other places. (Also, the girl in pink!! Eee!)

The song is by Eddy Kenzo, who is a musician/singer from Uganda. No clue who uploaded the video, or where (ie what country) it was shot - but the use of the word "Ghetto" may have other connotations in a place that is not the U.S.A. ? Anyone here from Uganda who could elaborate/clarify ?

YAAAWWWNN, thats some cute shit and all but that doesn't compare to these kids who can REALLY groove to the music.

Every time I see someone do that it activates my gag reflex.
