ME TOO. I can’t stand listening to DW. Gordon was the best thing to happen to Fox.

Tom, my man, WTF. 99% of the time you’re spot on with these recommendations, but you could not be more wrong today. gaggg.
When did the Bolt even become available? I can’t find any local in Charleston, SC. Shouldn’t we reserve this judgment until the car is actually available across the country? This feels like a skewed assessment...
Magnetic Ride was offered starting in 2015, along with the rear Brembos, PLUS it still had the better looking and stronger forged wheels. ‘15 was the first year that they painted the plastic rear diffuser, rather than unpainted plastic as well.
Agreed, ‘15 is the money year. That Alchemy Purple looks awesome in person... I wanted it so bad. I got stuck with black... because it was the only manual transmission in a couple hundred miles at the time I bought.
Yep! I commented the same. I would like to have had the dual mode exhaust, but I prefer the wheels (and I actually like having the fog lights + LED driving lights) on my ‘15 manual SS :)
He was talking about the gen 6 Camaro SS. Same chassis as ATS-V.
THIS.
Good god, what? What part of I-81 are you talking about? The part where semi-trucks camp in the left lane and won’t let anyone pass? Or the part where VA cops hide behind every corner?
To your point, Charleston can be overly expensive, but outside of downtown (West Ashley, NOT Mt. Pleasant), it’s not too terrible. I might be biased and just trying to justify the cost, but I also like SC’s less restrictive automotive laws.
Greenville isn’t too bad, you just have to go through a lot of shit to get there. I’d still choose Charleston over any place in NC though, with the possible exception of Asheville.
An awesome car regardless. I looked for an MT6 GXP for a long time before buying the SS. They’re few and far between and still bring good money.
18"s will clear, others have tried. I may go that route as well, but 15" black steel wheels and fat yellow letter tires would look so very mean (if a little white trash).
That does look much better... I’d love to put that much meat on my SS, but brakes....
Oh cool, I also had a SS supercharged cobalt. I feel like the LSD in the Cobalt actually made it pull harder off the line too. You’re right about needing revs to launch the ST, thanks to the turbo lag. My problem is less at launch and more after it’s built boost in 1st gear. I get quite a bit of wheel spin in the ST…
This event looks awesome by the way!!
The engine picture is the ZR-1 engine, but the green C4 body is not a ZR-1... so I was equally confused/curious. I suppose there could have been another corvette there that was actually a ZR-1, but didn’t get any exterior photos?
Yea I think the biggest problem with the ST, in my experience, is putting that power down. As others have mentioned, the LSD of the Type R will make a big difference here. The ST would really benefit from an LSD. That being said, it’s still an awesome car to drive, I enjoy dogging her car around town when I get the…
Power comments are very true and having OEM (read: warrantied) power is a big deal. Clearly the big take away from the comments is the superior transmission, but I’ve never heard any complaints regarding the ST’s chassis. I suppose the LSD would be helpful in getting that extra power down. It may be worth the extra…
A lot of good replies to this question, which I appreciate, it was a genuine curiosity. I’d love to drive one of these. I’d like to see if I can really “feel” that 50HP too. It’s already difficult to put the 252HP of the ST to the ground without drama and I’ve never heard any real complaints of that chassis either.…
