A) I don’t have a truck and didn’t defend any truck-buying people, much less those who adorn their pickups with tacky accessories. I drive a RWD sedan.

Sure. Do we need repeat articles about it? Even a shit article like this one, wherein the author is trying to acknowledge something good in GM’s decision-making, is laced with backhanded compliments. It’s trite. Despite several authors, there’s only one monotonous voice.
If you missed the last couple decades, journalism and print media are dead, blogging and opinions (well, opinion, singular. Only the ones approved by the residents of NYC and LA) are in! Facts are dumb, and if your needs are different than the residents of those 2 cities, you’re racist and hate science (that doesn’t…
A negative GM article on Jalopnik. And it craps on a ”big and stupid” truck, too.
“in a market that can’t get enough of big and stupid SUVs."
Yeah, that’s definitely a picture of a sunbathing asshole.
You must be joking. If you need an ET (electric truck???) in that timeframe it will have a Ford or Chevy badge on it.
No, the normal window would shatter into thousands of pieces, as it is supposed to. Tesla catches fire from an accident, doors jam and precious seconds are lost as ERS cannot successfully break the glass instantly. They will, what, need to use an axe? While you burn.
For the price of the Taycan vs Tesla, a sane person would.
come on CP’rs, have you priced out any kind of Cobra replica ever? This thing is about as close to giveaway as you’d ever want. Oh I see, it’s not an “authentic” copy of an AC copy?
I was reacting to the assertion that Cadillac “phoned it in”. I think they put real effort into their cars, and they are as good as their competitors, including their latest interiors, which I don’t agree are inferior to their competitors at all. But that’s almost beside the point, because they have committed to…
Does it actually look dated or are you saying that just because it has a Cadillac badge? It looks as contemporary as anything else on the road. I also think this looks decent although I agree that there are a lot of better looking cars on the market.
I respect your opinion. I don’t think it looks dated at all. I dig it.
Alanis, I really think the “blah” you talk about is entirely in the mind of the beholder. Cadillac’s cars aren’t just decent, they are really good. Jalopnik, for example, agreed with the rest of the auto media that the ATS was as good as the 3 series. And they look really good (yes, that’s subjective, of course, but…
there’s reaching for a narrative, and there’s this.
DiBenedetto is one of those drivers that you either love or hate, and the response to the news has maintained that polarizing attitude.
1 race sponsorship deal is now a sponsorship he takes with him everywhere?
I get it barstool sucks. There’s absolutely no denying it. Do you have confirmation that the Barstool sponsorship for Matt is personal and not for the team? It seems like you’re drumming up controversy just to get clicks and hate mail.
Since…
Thank you for your all star reporting of calling a guy controversial and linking to completely concrete evidence - like a series of angry tweets - from a reputable source to support your arguments. Great work!
Yeah, it’s something of a stretch to call him controversial for Barstool. Yeah, Barstool is trash, but did he bring the sponsorship or was it the team, and is it a controversy anywhere but Jalopnik?
I’m really happy for Matt DiBenedetto. His interviews are very genuine, a breath of fresh air for NASCAR, and he’s worked really hard for his finishes. He seems like a guy that has a lot of respect for other competitors, and other racers (Denny Hamlin) also respect him.
