This is one of the things I really like about Nevada. Gas taxes are legally only allowed to be used for the roads and aren’t put into the general fund like most states do. Our roads are actually pretty decent, the biggest problem we have is trying to balance the growth of Las Vegas with the more rural rest of the

A Trax is so ridiculously small it’s basically just a cheap way to say you don’t have a boring sedan but still need space for car seats.

Had there been a good Fusion Wagon or TourX on sale in 2016 when we needed a car, there would be one of those in my driveway instead of a Santa Fe Sport. It’s a shame, really.

Paint that thing black and it’s a fuel efficient hearse, I love it.

Take a look at GPUs, higher end cellphones, etc. and you’ll see that just about everyone in the electronics manufacturing industry’s top levels is capable of some truly amazing stuff. The way I see it is that every major electronics manufacturer has the motivation and skill to pack a board this tightly whereas Tesla

None of those things he said are mutually exclusive in any way.

This doesn’t surprise me in the slightest. The thing is, electronics are relatively easy these days. Cars are Hard. People who say that cars/bodies are the easy part have no real understanding of just what the auto industry has had to do over the last century to get where they are today. It’s not just about body panel

... I think your correction may be valid.

Routh was a good Reeve-Superman substitute, but the script sucked. Routh is a *perfect* Ray Palmer.

Signal would be better if it forwarded SMSes to the desktop.

The nastier stuff about him hit after he left SV if I recall, but really he had kinda burned out on SV by that point. I’m still not sure exactly what all happened, but. Bah.

I have the 17" RX580 version they’re offering today and agree with you. It’s a beast, build quality could be nicer but they put together a pretty decent system.

Yeah, I was thinking about it being a QWERTY slider in the other direction. And multi-directional sliders *have* been done before, so it wouldn’t be new ground or anything like that.

You can still put a case on a sliding phone, there have been plenty of them in the past. In this particular situation though, you’d be getting something closer to a bumper case in two pieces.

There’s definitely a subset of users that would go absolutely insane for this thing if it had a sliding keyboard.

Sliding mechanisms aren’t necessarily as bad as you think. I had an OG Motorola Droid back in the day, and that slider felt solid for two years even though I’ve heard that there were better ones out there in other models.

But you’d put a Trabant in your driveway in a heartbeat if you could, wouldn’t you?

I don’t really care about a selfie cam (I’m old) and as a result can live without having one most of the time. Light and proximity sensors would be nice to have though, as would some kind of front speakers. If those issues can be worked out though?

What are they? A rounding error for any other established mainstream auto manufacturer.

I’d expect to see them bought by Chery or VAG or some other overseas auto manufacturer.
