Running a stock Nexus 4 on 4.2.1 with Nova Launcher and this does not work for me. So0o0o0

So you want two different wallpapers, one for each monitor, right? In that case I would recommend DisplayFusion. I think there is a free and premium version of it and you can do just that plus much more like dual taskbars and different screensavers for each monitor. Good luck.
