Want to die every time I drive the C7 Corvette in a 65mph zone and people are doing 55mph in the left lane. Straight out suicide mission. It makes me want to go full Mustang.
No talking. Clear audio. Cockpit view. Windows up. Windows down. Show me how it drives, sounds, handles, et cetera. I am 100% okay with this being a portion of the video and the other portion being the explanation, but I like it when the car gets to talk.
Do you think some day in the future, they will have invented some sort of “turbocharger” for electric motors to meet government regulations and then the displacement figures will get all messed up all over again ala the c63 AMG packing a TT 4.0L V8? Example: 75D is “really” a 50 kWh motor with some magic electron…
C7 Corvette feels downright bored under 100mph. You barely need to shift into 4th gear to get there.
I’d believe it. It defintely feels more like 360-400 crank horses just from the butt dyno + knowing the weight of the car.
Absolutely. It just feels like it shouldn’t be as quick as it is. It still feels slow as fuck compared to my summer car (C7 Corvette) but for a bloaty ass cushy fake sedan wagon thing, it scoots.
The 3.0T (fake T, it’s a fkin supercharger) is sneaky quick. Not fast, just sneaky quick. My ‘16 Audi A7 is definitely quicker - at least in a straight line - that my previous ‘15 STi was. That said, the ‘16 A7 got a reprogram claiming it was 333hp at the crank (I think) which probably means it’s actually like 400hp…
Buffalo proud. As our history endures: “Hey, at least we aren’t the worst.”
High mileage Lotus Elise. Car guys know it’s a Celica motor shoved in a tub that has an optional radio. Regular people think it’s a Ferrari, so fuck it, right?
Sure. Doesn’t make figureskating or drifting wrong, just not my cup of tea. I prefer autocross, HPDE and ice hockey because I like the measurable aspect of sporting. To each their own!
Maybe I’m a grumpy, old 26 year old, but I still can’t think of drifting as anything other than the figure skating of motorsports ever. That said, I definitely don’t have the sack to throw a fucking 4,000 pound GTR sideways at 190 mph, so kudos.
Somewhat interchangable I suppose. Just depends on how many people/kids and how much room needed.
Said in the last WRX thread - Mercedes E63 AMG Wagon.
Interesting. I have had a chance to see both in person several times and check them out a bit. I might agree on the stock 458 exhaust. They’re both incredible machines either way - the Mac is clearly a technically better car overall.
Eh, but in fairness, you can buy a lot of cars way faster or potentially even way more fun than a supercar for way less money than a supercar. Let’s not pretend that supercars aren’t really a dick measuring contest at the end of the day. For less money, you could grab a Viper ACR that would stomp any supercar on a lap…
Eh, if I’m just trying to go fast I’ll take my C7 Corvette out to the track. If I’m trying to be comfy, I’ll drive my Audi A7. If I’m trying to tow some shit, I’ll take my wife’s G550. If I’m trying to drive a supercar, I’d rather listen to the glorious naturally aspirated screaming V8 with the super high redline.…
Been strongly considering buying one of these within the next 6-12 months but can’t help but feeling like if I wait until the 488 hits the used market that I probably will be able to land a 458 for not that much more money. Sure, the 458 is “slower”, but in fairness, I get to listen to that glorious fucking naturally…
I don’t even hate the buttress because it’s very “spyder”, but I don’t disagree overall. A fastback would be fucking sweet.
Baby Viper.
