Makes sense. I don’t drive much and I use my Audi A7 or my wife’s dirty dirty TDi for any longer trips generally that aren’t driving to a road course. Trunk space is kind of irrelevant in a track-focused car in my opinion, but if you intend to daily it, I could see the positives.

I own this (not my car pictured but same color + spec as the one I own). I have no problem at all removing the roof and tossing it in the trunk when I want to go topless. Saves an ass ton of weight. Looks just as cool, still targa, is cheaper.

If you view the NSX as a better vehicle than the competition, you could have that opinion. I don’t because it simply isn’t, unless you want it for some reason just to have it. But hey, that’s toy cars. It doesn’t need to be “better” to want it more. Personally, I don’t want it because it’s bloated, heavy and probably

Agreed. While I do like the direction which Cadillac has moved in, I think that going for the “this is cushy as hell” angle is very interesting. I am unsure as to whether buyers in America will be interested or not yet, but I guarantee they blow it out of the water in the Chinese market.

And I don’t plan to unless they figure out how to cut a whole fuckton of weight, so you’re right ;)

3700 pound curb weight.

True. Even those of us that can afford them aren’t interested. For that kind of change, I’ll go grab a higher mileage used 458 or McLaren 12c because fuck it.

This.

Looks like they slapped a Continental front end on an Explorer and called ‘er a day.

Generally, yes, it will.

Not every family can afford a $25k car either ;)

Tons of power might be an exaggeration and “the Best Family Car for Enthusiasts” might be a stretch when the AMG E63 Wagon exists (we said BEST, right?), but I respect it. I owned a ‘13 WRX and ‘15 STi and did not love them, so they’re gone.

GT-R’s have depreciated to the point where I’d consider one as a winter beater for fun. I’ll wait until they hit sub-$30k and lift one with some snow tires. Rally time!

Let’s hope. I don’t want my self driving Ferrari to drive me to the grocery store at 1 mph under the posted limit and brake for crossing tumbleweeds.

Please, please, please have a defeat system installed. I do not want my car slamming the brakes at Watkins Glen or on an autocross course when I decide to deep brake a corner and it sees a fucking cone in my way.

This is all probably true. Progress indicates as such. Hopefully, human driven cars don’t get regulated out. I would doubt that they would, but I definitely could see them becoming a piece of nostalgia within our lifetime.

I own a few different cars. I use my C7 Corvette for HPDE / autocross and in the Summers to drive for the hell of it and an Audi A7 to use as the comfortable car and people mover when needed for business stuff. I’d be pissed if the C7 drove itself. As per the Audi, I still would prefer to drive it around town, but if
