Sad that we need to keep pointing out the key differences between the GM and VW cases. One was negilgence that was fixed by the company after it was discovered, the other was intentional fraud by the company.

I wonder how true that is any more, given that insurance companies do per-model actuarial tables...

Factory five did it with the 818 using a subie if that counts.

I find there to be a slight irony in the fact that you agree about the C5 being a “blobby mess” and you DON’T think that an FD bears a strong resemblance to a C5.

C5's are also cheap these days. They have pop up headlights and a transaxle for better balance. If you’re good with tools and have an eye for color, you can do some amazing things with a 17 year old Corvette.

Hooray for third gen love!

Let’s be a little more real, it was people accidentally turning the car off by twisting the key by accident. I’ve got a camaro with the outstanding recall. They want to take off the switchblade key and give me a regular key. Leaving me with a giant key fob with a hole in the side. All to fix, “don’t turn that key

Fleeced you? How much compensation did you receive for your car?

That’s not really contradictory. They’re suggesting people they think you may know if real life but haven’t friended yet.

Speaking as a kid who grew up in the CD era, that feeling of excitement absolutely existed with CDs. Almost exactly how you describe it.

How about when Subaru ACTUALLY made an Sti wagon? That Legacy is at most a wrx.

Financing a phone has been that way for a while. It just used to be they baked in the cost of the phone into your contract price without telling you which portion was for the phone.

You seriously do not understand economics. Profit is the leading motivation (and source of funding) for innovation. If by some socialistic miracle you could “force” this scenario, there wouldn’t be drug companies, hence there would not be life-saving medications.

The early stages were neat (watched through eclipse glasses), but seeing it in totality just blew the rest of the experience away. Being able to look at it with the naked eye and seeing the corona, seeing what appeared to be a sunset at every horizon, and just the cool darkness that swept over everything was pretty

I get the feeling this author used to work at a failed tech company and is bitter about their life choices. Foiling and kite boarding are not all that expensive nor exclusive. As far as sports hobbies go, it’s middle of the road at best with regard to expense.

With wrangler resale so high you’d think that leases would be cheap on those.

Is this because of the large depreciation hit they expect to take on the car when it’s a few years old?

That’s irrelevant. What you should be asking is, who manufactured the vehicle and why is the manufacture associated with such a horrific event? Also, do they condemn it? If not, then then we need to organize a social media backlash campaign.

Big deal. I found half of a sleeping UAW worker under the 3rd row of my Traverse.

Oh yeah? If a rifle or a shotgun can protect your home, so can a handgun.
