No, not all. Normal day to day driving i've been averaging 35mpg in my 91 civic. No tricks or anything. It's rated at 28mpg highway.

There is a very large gap between what kind of fuel mileage the EPA says your car can get, and reality. More often than not, the EPA's ratings are optimistic at best.

Everything about this graphic is wonderful to me. Old 2nd gen accord hatch, BAR Honda, and Sunoco fuel. Epic win...
