Blind spot mirrors. Because I ride a motorcycle, it's nice to see these lit up on most newer cars because it's just that much less likely to get merged into. Also work well on my little ass Civic because no one sees that either.

Actually, I have seen the opposite as far as rain is concerned. They work pretty well in the rain in all temperatures. They also do not harden, they actually become softer in the warmer weather:
Me and my 91 Civic on snows were the fastest thing on the road this morning. Very safe with snow tires. Very quick. Very easy. My one hour usual commute turned into an hour and a half due to the last 3 miles being stuck in traffic.. I love my snow tires.. :)

WTF do you mean they are "useless" in that weather?? WHAT?? I drove my Civic on winter tires that day.. Guess what? It's what I drove to work in. Tires performed like a TIRE on a 65 degree day. Dumbest comment ever...
