I wish this was surprising. The levels of racism in Italy have always been embarrassing, but they’ve gotten way worse over the past two decades.

You can detest Hulk Hogan all you want for the fact that he’s openly racist.

But French Guiana is also part of CONCACAF and competes in the Caribbean Championship and the CONCACAF Gold Cup - but not World Cup qualifying.

I know the reasons are deeply historical, but I don’t particularly understand them. Something about colonialism and Simon Bolivar and the languages spoken there.

To be fair, I’d take our U23s right now over the group that lost to Trinidad and Tobago.

To clarify, CONMEBOL, the South American confederation, does not include Suriname, Guyana, or French Guiana.

A lack of quality in central midfield and central defense is not a good formula for a deep World Cup run.

Racism is like a disease-causing bacteria. It’s constantly evolves to survive despite our best efforts to cure it.

HAHAHAHAHAHA! Good joke.

Yes. It is also completely irrelevant to this conversation and I’m confused as to why anyone would even bring it up?

Given that he spent 15 years playing soccer professionally in the Netherlands, earned 101 caps for the US National Team, and served as the technical director/director of football/general manager for Dutch professional soccer teams for nine years, yes I trust him to understand that.

You think Earnie Stewart is an MLS bootlicker - with that resume?

GM = Technical Director. Most foreign national teams have them.

And yet the idea of a peace accord that includes a return to the idea of Jerusalem as an international city is one that is constantly brought up as part of the peace process, in international circles, and in academia.

It is though. Under the original 1948 U.N. plan for the partition of Palestine, Jerusalem would be an international city with special status, not subject to the control of either Israel or Palestine.

That’s a ridiculously one-sided version of history. Maybe if Israel didn’t constantly start pre-emptive wars to try and steal the territory of their neighbors, they might have better relations with them.

Yes. And swatters often are prosecuted.

It’s limited, but not limiting.

It’s not entirely unprecedented. Monica Seles won her first tournament after a two and a half year break from tennis because she got stabbed on the court and won a major within six months of her return.

There are a bunch in the comments thread of this post already, actually. Scroll and you’ll see them. One even involves Arsenal. Guess the Premier League really sucks, huh?
