Come on Root, you gotta be better than this.
Come on Root, you gotta be better than this.
This story is the definition of “so what?”
It’s not *quite* accusing someone of Nazi sympathies because they once owned a VW Beetle made in the ‘70s, but it’s only a step or two removed from it.
It also says that this was a racist thing until the early 90’s (and then wasn’t?). So given that she’s 41 now, unless she was tuned into kkk goings on in her pre-teen years and was crowned kkk princess of St Louis while a freshman at Princeton at the age of 13 (possible) it doesn’t seem like there’s much here to link…
There’s really not much of anything here. The headline and the beginning of the story made it sound like Erin from The Office was burning crosses and shit. Nope, she attended some corny debutante ball thing that has a racist past. Most of the US has a racist past.
Am I missing something? I see no connection other than the origins of the festival or party or whatever that would tie her to KKK leanings. If dumbass Black people wanted to join that bullshit, that’s of course their choice but I don’t see where she was personally connected to the KKK or even racism. I also think it’s…
Your making somewhat exaggerated assumptions.
You can get a Tesla without the self driving. It’s an option.
You want to use something like autopilot you should have to have a camera on you. Sorry but people show they are too stupid and selfish for good things.
I’m not even a “truck guy” but I am definitely intrigued by this thing. Primarily because it ditches the ICE.
And the “drop down”: front gate would only space you AWAY from the real FRUNK room...looks cool but not really the way to go.
I just think it’s so goddam important that it’s a essentially just a very normal, common, mass produced vehicle that *happens* to be a BEV. There’s no weirdo gimmicky bullshit (Hummer being the Warthog from Halo, Tesla’s general Tesla-ness) to justify the price the premium BEV’s. Fortunately, people have already been…
Dude, it knocks out 0-60 in less than 4½ seconds.
Exactly. Not having to buy a tool chest for the bed is SUPER cool. Also, the idea that I could stick a portable fridge/cooler in the frunk and keep it powered for the trip is a great idea.
I knew the Frunk was generally a good idea. I just wasn’t prepared to understand how great of an idea it is on a big truck like this.
When I tow with my truck, I can expect a reduction of about 40%-50% in fuel economy. I’m sure the physics are about the same with electric propulsion as well.
It’s very cool, although Car and Driver did a writeup on what happens to range when towing...short answer is nothing good. But that will be true of every electric. They’re just not the tool for extended distance tow/haul...yet
Why should they be? Ford has manufacturing, a much better service network, and a cult-following of truck buyers. Tesla has its charging network but a lot of truck owners have dedicated parking spaces and can likely charge there. I know I can if my truck were electric. I don’t know if tesla’s cult following is as…
Ford actually cares about the F150 and actually takes it seriously, so even if some of their launches have been garbage, the F150 won’t be.
Probably because this is one of the first “normal” vehicles that happens to be electric, and have respectable price/performance numbers.
