Why don’t those passenger door slide open automatically? Try an AWD minivan instead, all the features you listed with more convenience.

Off a bunt!

Yeah....I’m going to need to see the receipts for the gas-mileage difference claim. Because of the minivan.

This exactly. My brothers cruise copart all the time and have actually purchased a total wreck, so that they could use it as the “base” of some other Frankenstein build that doesn’t really have anything to do with the original, other than it donated the VIN so they could register it in the end.

The 4-banger is just a minivan without sliding doors. That’s all these cross-overs are, inconvenient minivans.

I’m just super glad that the salt will be dry enough this year for runs. I might try to make it out to see some.

Could this be the one true comment? Or do your comments from the Japanese version of deadspin count?

Thank you! You saved me from having to write up the same thing. Too much Hollywood for people to understand this concept.

My parents bought my grandparents Buick from them (230k miles on it at the time) so that I could have something to drive when I turned 16. After 6 months of good driving, my dad called and told me he had bought me a car...and that I needed to go get a loan to pay for it...all.

I went to college with him, not the same years, but we overlapped for a year. I can confirm he is this crazy, but is fully committed to what he says he will do.

Great and cool article, Mack.

Can confirm. My uncle has owned one since new and let me drive it when I was 19. 15 years later and I still think about it. Everything about that car was perfect in my opinion (except for the smell...he is a smoker).

Well have you considered this...it’s the greatest idea.

This is what I am thinking. I know that he loves Sun Valley, my brother has seen him there in the summer as well as everyone’s tales about him in the the winter. A development to the West of the Sawtooths would make sense, or just an alternative to Sun Valley that is out of the mountains.

So many people do not understand the concept of unmarked legal crosswalks. Thank you for bringing this definition into the discussion.

Sadly, it is not yet finished and still has at least another book to go, if not more. I started reading Lightbringer understanding it was a trilogy...ouch. But had I known it was going to be 5+ books, my expectations would have been better.

Take RedStarLeo’s advice and read the Codex Alera series by Jim Butcher next.

Codex Alera could always use some more love. Very under-appreciated series, and it is complete (!) which made for an awesome read-through.

Agree with Marv Albert needing to retire, but must disagree on principle because you did not recommend Shaq or anyone else needing to set fire to Mark Jackson until he is dead.

While this is true, except in speed traps and other irrational situations, the speed limits are based on what a normal driver finds safe to travel. On wide well lit roads, people naturally do the speed limit or keep up with those that do, with exceptions on both ends.
