So, Musk now demands that every expense has to be run by him or the CFO, regardless of how small? That just won’t work, because there is just too many expenses to handle for 2 people. It just means important decisions will be put in a queue behind less important things such as buying toilet roll.

Did they even understand aerodynamics back then? Even if they did, were the cars fast enough to benefit from improved aerodynamics?

Instead of buying them a car with modern safety standards, spend the money on advanced driver training. Its better to have no airbags and never need them than to have 10 airbags and use them every few years.

The Mustang gets 5 stars in every category? Even pedestrian safety?

Cheaper than the Grand Caravan. Its probably the cheapest 7 seater on sale today.

Doug DeMuro wrote something like this years ago. He basically said that its not just what they drive, but how they got it. If they inherited a crappy car from a grandparent, and continue driving it because its their last memory of that person, that’s understandable.

Regenerative braking is similar to engine braking. Can be helpful when you’re driving down a hill, but useless on the track. On the track, you use the brakes to slow down the car, and the Model 3 has brakes that are powerful enough to trigger ABS.

Tesla’s response to every fire or Autopilot crash: That’s unfortunate, but Tesla’s are still the safest, least fire-prone cars in the history of the world ever.

A used Mercedes E Class Wagon can be found for $50k. As its lower than a crossover, it’ll be easier to get the dog in. They also have good long-term reliability, great comfort, lots of space, and rear-facing 3rd row seats. They also have plenty of equipment, and are very safe cars.

The Mercedes E Class wagon has AWD. I’d recommend a used one. They have good long term reliability (the German unreliability misconception only applies to Audi and VW in most cases). As its a wagon, not a crossover, it will be easier for the dog to get in, as it’s lower. Also, they’re very comfortable, have 3rd row

At this price, it would have to be pretty terrible to get a CP from me. However, this car may have hidden damage. Why would anyone put the fenders of a diesel onto an E320? Because either A) they crashed it, or B) the original fenders had to be replaced due to rust. In scenario A, I’d be worried about what else was

The new A6 and A8 interiors may look cool in Audi’s press photos, but will look crap in real life, as most of the dashboard will be covered in fingerprints. Also, buttons are easier to use, as you don’t have to look to see what you’re touching. And with Audi’s reputation for electrical issues, I don't think it makes

Most studies have shown that people don’t even want autonomous cars. Most people aren't to keen on the idea of dying in a car crash.

“10 times less likely to catch fire than a gas car*”

BMW’s were recalled I’m sure. That is the correct protocol when you’re cars self-combust. Tesla should do the same.

The MK7 Golf has a nice, classy interior. Why are they throwing that away in favour of a gimmicky screens’r’us interior? They should just evolve the MK7 design.

They still have issues.

These really are just stats. There’s not really any link between the cars on this list and actual safety.

I have a slight suspicion that these aren’t quite as well made as the real W123
