Long-term reliability is also a big drawback to EV’s. After 100k-120k miles, or around 12 years, the battery packs are dead, and need to be replaced, which usually cost more than the car is worth.

Buy a ceramic IMS bearing, and it’ll go on forever with normal maintenance.

Its still seriously weird looking, but its a genuinely good, functional, honest vehicle, unlike all these crossover we have today. I also like the huge windows, which let lots of light inside, unlike a lot of cars today with their rising beltlines.

Its perfectly rational to hate Tesla. Tesla is trying to falsely convince everyone that EVs should replace cars with engines.

You can sometimes find Honda S2000's for $10k. That’s what I’d suggest

If this were closer to me, it’d be sold already.

For that price, I’d buy it, drive it for a couple of years, then sell it before something major breaks again. The 128i is a much better car if you intend on owning it for any length of time.

Mostly good. But the 135i with the N54 engine not so much. Lots of issues with turbo wastegates, and the N54 is very prone to carbon build up over not much time.

Normally, any car this cheap I’d give a NP.

As it is being discontinued soon, they should make a run-out edition called the Flex County Squire, complete with wood panelling.

I think their philosophy is “Add horsepower, and give the horses steroids”

A lot of people think it shares a platform with the W210 E Class, but it doesn’t. It shares the rear suspension design with the W211 E Class- that's it. Nothing else.

Does FCA actually need to merge with another company though? I’d have thought Jeep and Ram are making them enough money to invest in their future.

How did the Model S show that EV’s are viable? That car has too many issues to be considered a good daily driver

We’re still waiting for a Redeye version of the Charger Hellcat

That grille looks like it could swallow an E30

It reminds me of the Tesla pick-up truck renders, with its short, sloped nose.

In Europe, diesel wagons are very common. You should rent a diesel wagon. I’d go for a Mercedes E Class wagon, or if the budget doesn’t stretch that far, a Skoda Superb TDI Wagon.

Here in the UK, a ceramic IMS bearing costs around £1k, and has the same labour costs as a clutch change. People often get a new clutch while they get the new IMS bearing put in. This is for the 986 Boxster, the 996 may be a bit different
