Its because this is BMW. They know fine well FWD is the least preferred layout for handling, but they’re doing it anyway, because the can build them cheaper. If I was spending brand-new BMW money, I wouldn’t want obvious signs of cost cutting.
I think you just bought two lemons. Timing chains normally last much longer than timing belts.

Which VW and Audi was that? I knew they weren’t the most reliable cars in the world, but I’d have expected them to last at least 100k miles.
Which BMW’s did you have? My E60 is still going strong at 187k miles
Audi’s aren’t the most reliable, but Mercedes, BMW, and Porsche make very reliable cars when they’re maintained properly. BMW’s are often used as police cars here in the UK and the rest of Europe, and often get well over 250k miles with no more than normal maintenance, despite constant idling and regularly being…

Due to the way Tesla employees are treated, I probably wouldn’t buy a Tesla even if they made good cars
They should use the S65. Give the V12 the send of it deserves.
I got a great deal when I got my first car. 2005 Civic with 70k miles listed for £2500. The dealer gave it to me for £2400, serviced it, and paid the tax. Later on that year, the exhaust started to rust and develop holes, but they fixed it free.
