Wait a minute, the answer is so obvious I feel like an idiot. Women really do cross-gender roleplay at a greater rate than men. The percentage of male players who are interested in genuine cross-gender roleplaying is probably like 4%. The other 19% is all the douchebags who just want to look at cartoon T&A.

They've said that there will be no always-online requirement. I'm sure they'll have silly social features built in, though, like Sims 3 already has.

No, the first thing they said is that it's got no online only to make up for Simcity

I'm pretty sure we will see him armored up at some point.

it won't be. sorry. but considering that they're going with Superman from that godawful Man of Steel movie and what appears to be Frank Miller's "get off my lawn" old man Batman (read: the fat fist of hardcore conservative indignation set in Miller's thugs-and-whores worldview), I think it's a safe bet Wonder Woman

Subtle color could make this a killer batsuit.

Sorry, I should have elaborated. I hate the Dark Knight Returns. I thought it took a Gothic, human character and turned him into a militaristic loon with the body of the Hulk and a badly redesigned costume.

Frank Miller Dark Knight Returns style cowl

It's the comic book Dark Knight Returns style short eared cowl

I would apreciate an apology from everyone who called me jerk/fool/asshole/idiot/fanboy for saying this was inevitable. MS has shown a good ability to listen to the customer. I'm pleased to see this news.

I am 12, what is this.

The new Wolfenstein.

Why? Few if any of these games need any kind of "mothership" connection for their singleplayer. And like I say in the post, the bigger MP titles will soon - if they don't already - have fan-run online services.

If only we had the technology to make lights turn on and off based on when they are needed.

As a game dev and gamer, I think you are right and it's scary.

You have to remember Pokemon X and Y released during their last fiscal year, and even with their sales of 12 million copies they posted a half a billion loss. If they're going to do better this year, it won't be Pokemon that does the trick, unless they suddenly sell way more copies.

A game that I'm pretty sure has been being made and advertised for like ten fucking years.

the Jedi Knight games had some fun sabre combat, don't know if that counts...

Not at all. It's pretty much like Indiana Jones, where each movie is a self-contained story/adventure on its own, with some recurring characters. You'll miss a few interactions between Nathan, Sully and Elena, but really nothing major or at all unpredictable. The main story of 2 has nothing to do with that of number 1.

Would be a winner if it dropped Gordon as the lead, dropped the silly pre-origins and just made a Batman tv show. Oh look, it's poison ivy as a tormented young girl, hey isn't that catgirl, ooo it's Mr. Room Temperature...
