It really should though. I have no idea why they’re trying to compete with themselves.

I bought a switch last week, and Mario Odyssey. So I thought I would be playing that. But then I dropped my phone in the toilet, and my wife’s phone stopped working at the same time. So I sold the switch (actually made a small profit!) and am now rocking a pixel 2, which plays hearthstone really, really well.
I’ve got a two and a half year old and a one and a half year old, and game around five hours a week - 3 nights after they go to bed, and one or two afternoon naps on my weekend. I also take a full share in housekeeping etc. It’s not impossible!
Have an active role in your child’s life. Don’t leave them to be raised by strangers, either virtual or real. Care about what your children watch, and help them make informed decisions at an early age. For me, that means no law patrol in our house, among other shows. It’s hard to fight mainstream culture, but worth…
If you’ve got any leads, let me know by pm? Everything I’ve been using has been shut down lately.
I’m a 30-something dad of two under three years old, but I still manage to game a fair amount - maybe 5-6 hours a week. I don’t really get annoyed with the length of a game, but I do get annoyed if it wastes my time. Sometimes I sit down for an hour in the evening and I feel like I spend the whole hour walking around…
Another yawner... I think it’s time for me to start saving up for a switch.
.... Not one game I’m interested in for Xbox one until March at the earliest. Very glad I didn’t splurge for an X, and the switch is looking mighty tempting.
Hearthstone. The solo quests are so, so addictive.
I’ve been playing one hour out of each game in library alphabetically and blogging about it along the way - you can find it at largepixels.wordpress.com - tonight it’s Diablo 3!
I only game on Xbox One and mainly buy digital, as I have young kids and limited shelf space (and my console is tucked up on a shelf making it awkward to swap discs). I realized that I have around 140 games on my drive, and have only played a quarter of them. So this year I’ve decided to play them all chronologically,…
Value can be defined in more ways than monetarily.
Amen to this.
All the TLC games were awesome. Treasure mountain, mathstorm, galaxy, and cove; operation Neptune; all the super solver games - that’s the stuff Mr childhood was built on. That, and the castle (and later island) of Dr. brain... Does anyone know if there’s any modern edutainment games that even come close? Or am I…
Product placement if done well (hopefully we’re past the era of head and shoulders shampoo or stride gum being a plot point) can actually increase immersion, the direct opposite of what loot braces do.
I’ve been a gamer for over twenty years, and even now with two kids I play five-ten hours a week. Know what I’ve been playing recently? Not shadow of war, destiny 2, or any other AAA titles. I’ve been playing super Mario RPG. And super Mario World. And other games on the SNES classic. And it’s not nostalgia - it’s…
I think angry is too strong. But frustrated? Yeah, it’s frustrating. I love gaming, I want my kids to love gaming, but I don’t want her playing any modern games. This is actually why I bought a SNES classic - I want her to learn about gaming before they became a slow drip money siphon.
I’m similar to you, except that I HAVE screwed around with emulation before, several times. I actually have a nexus player loaded with emulators and games - and I STILL bought a SNES classic. It’s simpler to plug and play, has a better controller, and can be modded to emulate to boot.. I don’t get why all these guys…
I bought mine because I have a two year old daughter and a one year old son, and this looks like the best and easiest way to start teaching them how to use a controller. My daughter is already swiping around on my phone, and modern console games are way too complicated for her. I think super Mario world is the perfect…
I miss the Exile games. They were essentially the same games as the Avernum games (same plot from same developer) but with a primitive top-down interface. I understand why Spiderweb thought that updating the games to an isometric perspective would be a good idea, but something was really lost in the translation. Pixel…
